Victim Representation and Rights
Many victims think the district attorney or prosecutor is their attorney. This is not the case. In California, the prosecutor is the State’s attorney and they do not represent your rights. As a victim, you are entitled to hire a private attorney to represent you. This makes sure you are notified in advance, that you are heard, and that nothing happens on the case without you getting to know about it first. We regularly represent victims in cases to make sure they are protected and are exercising their rights to the fullest extent possible.
